MUST HAVE Smartphones of 2020 List
We’re nearing the end of 2020, and it’s been a year! That hasn’t stopped manufacturers from putting out some stunning smartphones. MUST HAVE Smartphones of 2020 List focuses on nine specific categories of smartphones. With devices starting at an ultra-affordable price to the top tier flagships, I’ll give you what I think are the best and must-have.
Ultra-Affordable Smartphones of 2020 List
2020 saw some amazing smartphones hitting the ultra-affordable category, and for good reasons. While I understand people have reservations about affordable smartphones, I can guarantee you no regrets!
My first choice is the Xiaomi Poco X3, a beast of a phone that will deliver for almost everyone. Everything about the Poco X3 is decent. You get strong gaming performance, excellent battery life and a killer fluid 120Hz wide colour gamut screen.
As a runner up, I’ve gone with the Realme 7 as equally versatile as the Poco X3. With the Realme 7, you get plenty of storage, a smooth 90Hz screen and fast charging. The camera is good, but nothing like the Pixel 4A and feels like plastic.
Best Affordable Smartphones of 2020 List
The devices are getting a bit of an upgrade in this category, my first choice lands on the Google Pixel 4a. The Google Pixel 4A is great for one-handed use. It provides you with a powerful single camera, and you get a headphone jack.
Coming as a close second is the OnePlus Nord. Offering lots of options for people on a budget. A very affordable phone with flagship qualities and a premium design. A nice complement of camera features and a decent battery.
Best Gaming Smartphone
You can only have one king and the Asus ROG Phone 3 takes the cake when it comes to delivering the best mobile gaming experience. Dishing out the best specs in terms of hardware for a phone. A hefty 6000mAh battery and a very slick screen. Very much adapted for gaming.
Best Smartphone Battery King
None other than the Asus ROG Phone 3 can take this one with a whopping 6000mAh battery.
Best Foldable Smartphone of 2020
There’s been a few options for foldable smartphones in 2020, but the Galaxy Z Fold2 5G is the only one you should consider. It offers a better multi-screen display and experience. Gracefully bigger front Cover Display. Refined second-gen hinge. Improved split-screen software.
Best Compact Smartphone of 2020
Compact devices seem to be all the rage with some. This is where the Google Pixel 4A shines. With a screen display, 5.81-inches display and 0.32-inch thick.
Best All-Around Flagship in 2020
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra takes this one away hands down. It’s has everything better. It’s an entire package that delivers. The 5x camera zoom crushes it for zoomed-in pictures. New useful S Pen features. Ultimately the best screen on a smartphone.
I do have a runner with the Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max, which is a very close contender. Yeah, I know, it’s a shock even to me. You get a premium design and build, with outstanding cameras. The battery life is great compared to previous iPhones. You also get support for 5G. The large camera bump might be too much for some.
Best Overall / Best Value 2020
Coming in the first place is the Xiaomi Mi 10. When you need an all-around device that can do all that you need and then some, which also is affordable, look no further. The Mi 10 delivers a premium design and finish. Punchy and smooth 90Hz screen will make entertainment a fun thing. You could potentially get more for less money.
As a close second, I have the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE. Just like the Xiaomi, anyone would be proud to showcase what the S20 FE can do. You can take great pictures, and the hardware under the hood will get you through everything. The display offers vibrant colour options.
Best Smartphones MUST HAVE in 2020
Look no further than the OnePlus 8T. Why? It offers, delivers, transcends and still manages to have a decent price. You get the flagship experience without the hefty price tag associated with it. A polished experience with a unique flair. The beast under the hood of the OnePlus 8T will keep you going. The long-lasting battery will ensure you get a full-day without interruption even under the heaviest loads. The display is gorgeous, makes for enjoyable entertainment. The Oxygen OS built on top of Android is fantastic.
Right on the heels of the OnePlus 8T, I have the Asus Zenfone 7 Pro, which is also an impressive device! Surprisingly the flip cameras take great selfies. A large 5,000mAh battery will give you a full day of use. You also have good speakers for all the bass thumping and an amazing screen.
Final Note for Best Smartphones of 2020 List
All these devices are rated to work in Canada and the United States. You can purchase these devices at various locations. I’ll include the details and where you can find each one. I guess that’s it for my MUST HAVE Smartphones of 2020 List.
