Let’s take a look at what Sennheiser unveiled @ #CES2017! The Sennheiser HD 1 In-Ear Wireless, Sennheiser HD 4.40BT and Sennheiser HD 4.50BTNC. While I’m all in when it comes to sound, Sennheiser hasn’t been one of those I’ve tested or reported on. Looking forward to having a chance to listen, feel and report on!
When you hear the name Sennheiser, you expect premium quality, sound, comfort and the list goes on. This year at #CES2017 Sennheiser didn’t disappoint. The Sennheiser HD1 In-Ear wireless which is part of the company’s Momentum lineup are made to look good as much as they sound good. I haven’t had the chance to get Sennheiser’s to send me a review unit, but I’m definitely looking forward at putting my paws on those!
The design is comprised of a band that wraps around the consumer’s neck, which is something we’ve seen in other products on the market and it’s nothing new. The earbuds made out of stainless steel themselves dangles around if you don’t have them in your ears and they appear to be quite solid. Sennheiser includes a set of 4 tips for optimum comfort. The neckband is composed of sheepskin leather with some red stitching along the edges to provide contrast and definition.
These babies are hiding support for Bluetooth 4.1, AAC and Apt-X codecs for a superior wireless sound experience when it’s paired with devices that support this technology. As we all know, most of these high-end pieces also come with an integrated microphone that allows you to pick up phone calls, but what we don’t often get is a vibrating scheme that alerts you when someone’s calling. We’ve got a battery rating of up to 10 hours of continuous usage.
No word on the price, but we should see them on sale later this month.

If you need something that kicks you in the face, let’s look at the Sennheiser HD 4.40BT and the HD 4.50BTNC as they should do the trick! These are the latest coming out of Sennheiser and they feature an around the ear design for your comfort and sound pleasure. The difference in the two models here is the “active noise cancellation” that the HD 4.50BTNC sports. It works in tandem with the built-in microphone to reduce the ambient noise. This model offers an extra little must have, the headphones are foldable.
When it comes to the technology found in the 4.40BT and the 4.50BTNC we can see that we have Bluetooth 4.0, Apt-X and both of these have 32-millimeter drivers. They also include NFC for easy pairing, control buttons for an easy music control and we are pleased to see that there’s a built-in microphone. Sennheiser indicates that we should be able to get up to 25 hours worth of continuous playback and if that wasn’t enough, you can go battery-free if you choose to use the detachable 3.5mm cable.
Sennheiser is launching the HD 4.40BT this month at a price of $150 USD. The noise-cancelling Sennheiser HD 4.50BTNC will launch in February for $200 USD.
